The P90X iPhone App Is Here

November 20, 2011 - Updated December 9, 2018

P90X iPhone App

Beachbody finally released the P90X iPhone app last week. They announced it was in the works at the 2011 Coach Summit. It could not have been a better time for it to come out as I was one of the tool boxes who waited 2 hours in line at the Apple Store to get the new iPhone 4S three weeks ago. I was due for a new cell phone as my last one was 5 years old.

**The P90X iPhone App has been discontinued. To replace the app, Beachbody has done something even better. Access P90X via Beachbody On Demand.**

How Do You Buy The P90X iPhone App?

First thing you need to do is sign up for a Free Beachbody Account. This way when you log into the P90X app you will be able to sync up your Team Beachbody account with your iPhone. This is probably the most important part. From there you can do a quick search on your iPhone or go and check it out at the iTunes store.

First Impression Of The P90X iPhone App

Its cool. I started playing around with it a little and can see how it would be beneficial. You get the option to buy all of the P90X workouts or just the ones you want. The basic app costs $4.99 and with it comes P90X Ab Ripper X and the P90X Fit Test. The real benefit comes from when you buy all of the workouts for $59.99. This is when the rest of the tools like tracking reps, weight used, and progress come available.

Does The P90X iPhone App Replace The P90X DVDs?

I’d say no. The P90X iPhone App is there to compliment the P90X DVDs. I’m thinking something like you want to go to the gym and can’t remember the workouts or you’re traveling and don’t want to take the P90X DVDs with you. I could not imagine doing all 90 days of P90X while looking at my iPhone. Plus, you miss all of the one liners Tony Horton says in P90X.

Does The P90X iPhone App Work On Any Other Apple Products?

Yes. You can buy the P90X app for the iPad and iPod Touch. I like to say that I’m new to the whole Apple products still even though I own an iPhone, iPod, iPad, and iMac but I think there’s a way to hook up the iPad and have it play on your TV. That would be a great way to buy P90X for half the price of the dvds and not have to stare at a tiny computer screen while trying to do Plyometrics.

Is The P90X App Available For The Android Market?

Not yet. I’m sure Beachbody will have the P90X app on the android platform sometime soon but I have not heard any news saying they are working on it. With millions of people using Android smart phones we can only assume Beachbody would want to tap into it.

Its only be a matter of time when all of the Beachbody workouts will be apps you can download to a phone, computer, or TV. I guess in the long run this will be more efficient. Less packaging materials, no worrying about scratched discs, or lost workout guides and meal plans. My only concern is people won’t take it that serious when its just another app on their iPhone. There is something about seeing the P90X DVD booklet on my shelf that motivates me to workout. The P90X iPhone app does solve the problems above so we can only hope it keeps more people wanting to workout.

What Is The Difference Between P90X And P90X2?

November 7, 2011 - Updated December 13, 2018

We are getting closer to the release date of P90X2 and everybody wants to know what the real differences between them are going to be. I’ll let Tony Horton fill you in on the details.

I had a chance to do the P90X2 Yoga workout at the Beachbody Coach Success Club Leadership trip in Laguna, California last month and was very impressed. The P90X2 Yoga workout moved at a much quicker pace than P90X Yoga X. Some dude in the video does a handstand for one of the poses. Going to need some practice to pull that one off. Woke up sore the next day from it.

The Science

P90X was all about “Muscle Confusion” whereas P90X2 is all about P.A.P or “Post-Activation Potentiation” (Say that 3 times fast).

Dr. Marcus Elliott was introduced by Beachbody at a separate Beachbody Coach Leadership Event in Dallas with the goal of taking P90X2 to a whole new level. He’s a Harvard educated Dr. so I’ll let him explain it.

Beachbody listened to what people had to say and made the necessary changes to make P90X2 better. We can assume from the video that P90X2’s moves are going to be just as or more extreme than P90X.

The changes I’m talking about are the 5 day a week workout plan instead of 6 days a week, a 60 minute yoga workout instead of 90 minutes, and a simpler meal plan.

Those three things were the major excuses people (including myself) would give for not wanting to do the original P90X and giving up. Looking forward to getting my P90X2 workout and starting in Jan. 2012.

Where To Buy The INSANITY Workout For Cheap?

November 1, 2011 - Updated November 28, 2018

Buy The Insanity Workout For CheapIf you are looking to save some money when buying the Insanity workout for less then Beachbody’s $120 retail price then you should know there is only one way to do so.

And that is with a Beachbody Coach account.

With a coach account you will be able to buy the Insanity DVDs for $90.

All coaches get a 25% discount on all Beachbody products. The catch is there is a one time $40 sign up fee and $16 a month to keep the account.

But why would you want to buy the DVD when you can view the Insanity workout whenever you want with a Beachbody On Demand account for $99 a year? This is what you want.

If being able to view the Insanity workout whenever is not what you want then you can still go old school and buy the following Insanity DVD packages below.

I’ve been a coach for quite some time and can say the discounts really add up. But again, Beachbody On Demand is probably you’re best bet since you really don’t need that much to do Insanity.
