We are getting closer to the release date of P90X2 and everybody wants to know what the real differences between them are going to be. I’ll let Tony Horton fill you in on the details.
I had a chance to do the P90X2 Yoga workout at the Beachbody Coach Success Club Leadership trip in Laguna, California last month and was very impressed. The P90X2 Yoga workout moved at a much quicker pace than P90X Yoga X. Some dude in the video does a handstand for one of the poses. Going to need some practice to pull that one off. Woke up sore the next day from it.
The Science
P90X was all about “Muscle Confusion” whereas P90X2 is all about P.A.P or “Post-Activation Potentiation” (Say that 3 times fast).
Dr. Marcus Elliott was introduced by Beachbody at a separate Beachbody Coach Leadership Event in Dallas with the goal of taking P90X2 to a whole new level. He’s a Harvard educated Dr. so I’ll let him explain it.
Beachbody listened to what people had to say and made the necessary changes to make P90X2 better. We can assume from the video that P90X2’s moves are going to be just as or more extreme than P90X.
The changes I’m talking about are the 5 day a week workout plan instead of 6 days a week, a 60 minute yoga workout instead of 90 minutes, and a simpler meal plan.
Those three things were the major excuses people (including myself) would give for not wanting to do the original P90X and giving up. Looking forward to getting my P90X2 workout and starting in Jan. 2012.
