Every once in a while I’ll get an email from somebody saying that Shakeology made them sick.
As in puke their brains out sort of sick.
It doesn’t happen that often so when I hear about it I have to do a little investigating.
And after doing many amounts of investigation I have come up with 3 possible scenarios as to why people are getting sick from using Shakeology.
- Allergic – Most common reason. Over 70 ingredients in Shakeology with many not being native to the U.S. Somebody usually finds out that one of those ingredients did not do so well in their system which caused them to get sick.
- Poor Health – If you’ve been eating poorly for a long time then your body might not be ready for such a large dose of nutrition all at once. Most who experienced this had it happen after their first or second dose of Shakeology. Their body rejected it. Instead of giving up on Shakeology I suggested taking half scoops until you can stomach it.
- Alcohol – I’ve experienced this twice in the seven years I’ve been using Shakeology. Don’t let Shakeology be the first thing you put in your system after a night of drinking. Eat something first and have it in the afternoon. Your stomach will have time to settle and the food will absorb some of the alcohol by then. Too much good vs evil going on all at once.
The only one of these that you really can’t do that much about is being allergic to one of the ingredients. If that is the case then you might need to look at getting a tamer meal replacement drink or making your own with whey protein.
I’d say that 99% of the people who have bought Shakeology have never had any of these problems. It’s safe to say that if you start using Shakeology on a day to day basis that your overall health will improve and the other types of sickness (colds, etc.) should not happen as much.
