If you are a savvy internet shopper you have probably found yourself comparing prices at an online retailer and then heading over to eBay to see if you can save a couple dollars. I don’t blame you. I do it too. What I wanted to do was tell you why not to “Buy P90X DVDs on eBay.”
**Good news. You can now view P90X and every other Beachbody workout online whenever you want for $99 a year with a Beachbody On Demand account. There’s even a 14 day free trial.**
The P90X DVDs on eBay are one of two things.
Many are frauds bought over in China and listed for sale. These replicas do not come with the nutrition plan, calendar, or fitness plan. Many are low quality and some are not even in English. There have been a number of reports where people have paid for P90X through their PayPal account and never got the DVD. It then became a hassle to get their money back.
Or they’re people who bought P90X, maybe did a round, and are outside of the 90 day return window. They are just trying to get some money back. Which is ok.
Beachbody does not sell on eBay. They do have a merchant account on Amazon with prices being the same on Beachbody.com.
Beachbody Coaches like myself are not allowed to sell on eBay. Those who try will be contacted by Beachbody’s legal team.
I talked to a guy who was buying P90X DVDs from China and listed them on eBay. He was contacted by Beachbody and told to stop or risk getting sued. They took it one step farther and contacted eBay and had his account suspended. He did not think he was doing anything wrong.

So now since you are a informed consumer you know that it makes sense to buy from the Beachbody Company. You can get everything you need to do P90X with like the pull up bar and resistance bands at the Beachbody Store.
If you really want to take the risk of buying a fake set of P90X DVDs on eBay then click here to do so. It will take you to eBay where you can compare listings to the picture above.
I am sure you will see a couple of them right off the bat where they are not listing the nutrition guide, calendar, or fitness guide with them and the picture does not look like the one above. If the listings do not look like the photo above just be careful.
I bought the 13-dvd set and all guides from ebay and worked out fine. Got them for $65 new.
@ Aravind
I’m sure they worked fine. The problem is what you bought are pirated copies. Beachbody does not sell on eBay and does not allow its Beachbody Coaches to do so either.
So instead of the money going to Beachbody to develop more workout programs you now sent it to somebody who knows nothing about fitness or nutrition. In the long run it hurts the company and all of the people who like P90X and want more.
If you end up liking P90X I recommend becoming a Beachbody Coach like I did and telling people about it.
You can’t assume that all copies on Craigslist and Ebay are copies. While many are probably pirated copies, there are going to be legitimate people selling used products. I totally agree that pirating DVDs is wrong and we should not support people who do that. But there is nothing wrong with buying from someone who couldn’t keep up with the program and decided to sell it. That’s not illegal either.
@ Patricia
You make a good point. The problem that usually happens is the pirated copies are listed as “New” and for cheaper then the used ones so people are going to buy the pirated ones because there’s no reason to buy used products for more. I tell everybody to buy P90X at the Beachbody Store so they know they are getting the real deal. If they don’t like it they can always return it for a full refund minus S&H. That gets me thinking. If people are buying the real deal from Beachbody to begin with and get a 90 day money back guarantee then why try to sell it on eBay or Craigslist at a loss?
Maybe they are procrastinators like me, and they didn’t get it returned within the 90 day period.
@ Robin
Maybe. But why would you want to return the P90X DVDs to begin with? I’ve had mine for over 3 years now and use them almost every week along with the other workouts.
I believe it’s only a 30 day money back garauntee. Atleast that’s what it just showed on the commercial I watched.
So I could see people getting tired of it within that 30 days or maybe doing it for a few weeks and leaving it sit around then forget to return it within that timeframe.
Some of us are on a little tighter budget and can’t afford the whole cost of the program. That is why I may be looking into craigslist. There are 5 or more within my local area “advertising” they have the brand new set of DVDs and booklets and all for 50 bucks!
Now this does seem sort of strange and makes me wonder, why so cheap? But if I was to contact one of these people, I would agree on a place to meet during the daytime in busy area with plenty of folks around and probably bring my sons portable DVD player just to test a few of the DVDs out before handing over the cash. If they didn’t agree to letting me test them out just to check for fakes then they’re guilty on the spot and won’t be getting my money!
If they are legit there should be no problem with opening the package and looking things over. I mean, I AM going to BUY if they are the real deal and if they are not then the person is probably not going to agree with the “test”.

@ Shawn
Its a 90 day money back guarantee in the Beachbody Store. With that guarantee there really is no reason to take a risk buying it anywhere else. Sounds like a lot of extra work you’re wanting to put yourself through to risk on saving $50. Plus, Beachbody now offers free bonus workouts with the new dvds making it an even better deal.
For anyone looking to buy the dvd sets on ebay please beware. I placed my order on 2/20/11 and still have not received them. I wish I had just waited a little longer and saved up a little more money and purchased them through the Beachbody website instead. Now I have to file a claim with Ebay so take this into consideration. I will be purchasing the original dvds soon, I learned my lesson!!!
@ WanabeFit
Thanks for leaving your story. Hopefully people will learn now that they need to get it from the Beachbody Store.
